[Solution] to VM linking problem

This worked for me.


Go to Bing Search (yes, it has to be Bing), and search for 'Virgin Media Register', and look for the first non sponsored result, which should be titled 'Register My Virgin Media Account' follow that which manages to stay on the original Virgin Media Registration page. Setup your virgin media account there. Once that is setup try and go to the normal login which takes you back to the VirginMediaO2 linking thing, and set up/link again.

    Thanks so much - as others on here have said, I was close to giving up with VirginMedia. Not sure why this workaround can't be communicated to all of their support staff. Anyway - thanks!

    Sorry,  but when you get to the set up link again bit, do you have to have VM02 sign in password to link in or can I just use my virgin media sign in  Thanks for you help. I am 74  year old woman and not up to date with these things.   Thanks again.

      Hi Marie11, no problem at all. We truly want to do our best to help. For the process of linking, it will ask you to access your Virgin Media account to be linked. Please use your Virgin Media sign-in to link the account, and this should not be tied to your VM02 ID. You can find out more here. Please let us know how it goes and if you need any further help.

        Thank you all for your help.  I am pleased to say I have finally got into minw and my husband's emails accounts.  To be fair, it wasn't as bad as I thought.  Just scared of the unknown.  Thanks again for all your help, it was appreciated.

    I'm having the same sort of problem but this only seems to be for New Accounts.
    When I get to the registration page it says:
     

    Register for my Virgin Media

    Please enter the email address you'd like to use to set up your My Virgin Media account.

    Sorry, you can’t use a @virginmedia.com email address, please choose a different email.

    Exactly! I’ve had IT call, 3 complaints and tried on the forum but still no further 6 weeks in! Someone needs to sort this!
