No end of contract notification

Hi , my contact has come to an end and as such my monthly payment has risen from approx £85 to £201. Understanding that this is the case , but I have not received an end of contract notification, which I understand is a regulatory requirement. Clearly have had no options , just the new payment taken out . Will be phoning to cancel but will have to give 30 days notice which will be another £201. Any thoughts ?

  • Your contract hasn't ended, the discounts you had have expired.
That period is advised in your welcome emails and is available online at any time therefore you could've given the required notice before those discounts ended
My bet is that you've missed or ignored offers somewhere along the line.
If you wish to leave you'll have to give the required notice and pay until your service is disconnected.

  • Hi tonynn,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're really sorry to hear you feel this way.  When you join us as a new customer, or re-contract as an existing customer, you'll usually be on a welcome/promotional offer. When this offer ends, you'll usually revert to the standard package price for the bundle.

The cost of this will be listed on your contract and the end date of the discounts is listed on each bill so you're always aware of when the price will be increasing. We also send out an End Of Contact Notification to you before your contract comes to an end highlighting the new price and also any offers that may be of interest. This is usually sent to the contact email address on file.

We're always happy to review your package and cost to help find one that best suits your needs and budget - this doesn't always mean a downgrade! You can view existing customer offers via My VM here and you can also speak to the team on 150 / 0345 454 1111.

    Many thanks,

    Hi tonynn

As indicated in other posts on this thread, the cost and end date of any current discounts is listed on each monthly bill/email advice, and also your account contract.

My current discounts are due to end on 21st November and I have received several emails advising "Your Virgin Media contract’s coming to an end soon"

I also received an end of contract information email, "You're contracts coming to an end we just want to keep you in the loop", a clickable link to a copy of this is in My Virgin Media on the right hand side under the View Contract tab which can also be downloaded (screenshot below)

     https://ebill2.virginmedia.com/ebill3/ViewContract.xhtm

  • Thank you for your response, I personally haven’t received any emails for end of contract notification. ( have checked both spam and junk also ) Have looked as suggested on my Virginmedia and doesn’t show end of contract for my current package. Only shows the end of my previous contact ( 2024 ).

      Hi again tonynn

Looking at your screenshot, you used the MVM app. I used the browser version.

It took me a while to find the same page using the app, however when using the app instead of selecting the contract period you should scroll down the page below "Your contract was updated etc..." and below the Download Statement link, and you should see the "End of contract information" link.
