£3 extra a month email is this to re contract

Why settle when you could go superfast? Bag a broadband speed boost for just £3 extra a month and enjoy the speeds you loved for less.

I’ve had the email above and there’s a box to click through for the offer. The small print at the bottom says 24 month contracts. Is the offer for the remainder of my contract or a new contract with different discounts?

  • Hi vjkld,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

As we're unable to see email offers, we're not able to definitively advise on this I'm afraid. If the small print advised 24 months contract, this would suggest it's a new contract.

You can be sure of this after clicking the link as it will send you some pre-contract documents with the full terms before you're locked into anything.

    Many thanks,

Take caution if unclear. Normally there is a carrot to hook you in under a discount for upgraded service and the reward of a new 24 month term for VM. It should state explicitly if this is not the case. Somewhere there should be a link to small print....

Do you actually need the speed boost?

Remember it is only guaranteed to work for ethernet connected devices. If you have poor wifi, a broadband increase will not improve it.

Agreed. These "out of the blue" upgrade offers, like the ice cream van outside, play on impulse buying. Were you really thinking last week "grrr this broadband is way too slow for my day to day needs"? If not don't throw extra money at VM.

Thanks for the comments I’m on 500mb currently. It’s fast enough. I was on 1gb before I re contracted previously. I don’t really need 1gb or many of the channels I have ie. movies and sports. I’ve been with Virgin for 20 years and tried to just have basic TV & broadband with decent discounts but could only re contract on the mega volt package with anytime calls that I rarely use.
Virgin upsells so much now unlike a few years ago. £3 for double the speed is a good offer for sure though.

If you would like to take the offer, then you can apply for this through the link in the email. Check the terms and conditions as advised, as it sounds like this would enter you into a new 24-month contract with us, should you wish to proceed.

Please let us know if you are having any further issues or have any questions at all. We'll be here to help on the Community Forums if needed.
