Is it possible to get a recording box with Stream?
We recently switched from Sky, where we'd been a customer for over 10 years. We hadn't realised when we switched that we'd only get the Stream box and that we can't record. At first it wasn't an issue, but not everything becomes available on the watchlist, and my husband is annoyed that we are paying for Sky Sports but he can't watch later if we're out; on Sky he'd be able to record his football matches and watch later in the day. This is the main reason why we wondered if it's possible to get a set top box to be able to record. Considering the additional cost for Sports it feels like a slap in the face to not be able to watch it later. Sky made us send back our Sky Q boxes so we can't switch back, and new contracts now only have their version of Stream! Why are these companies charging us so much money but we're losing the ability to record our entertainment to watch when we want?!108Views0likes1CommentTrying to order a second WiFi pod.
Trying to order a 2nd WiFi pod. I am a volt customer so can get up to 3. Our first one was in our main bedroom but we recently switched to a streaming box, we have had to move the pod into the 2nd bedroom to stop the stream box buffering. Now we have no WiFi signal in the main bedroom. I have used the connect app to scan and it says I have poor signal but will not give me an option to order another one. I am reluctant to call up as I recently spent over 4 hours on the phone over 2 days recently trying to upgrade my package ad chat isn’t very helpful can’t seem to get past the bot. We’ve got a 360 box for the living room, but I’d also like to be able to watch live TV on our set in the kitchen. Does the streaming box do this? I want to avoid having to use all the individual streaming apps to change channels. We’ve got two plug sockets available, one for TV and one for the soundbar. Received new stream box today as the one I’ve had for 2 months has never connected for more than a few hours and was faulty. Having spent an hour today in the phone getting the new stream box set up (rebooting the WiFi etc) as it wouldn’t find the stream, the same issue is happening. Either the tv doesn’t find the source or when I get onto virgin I either get not connected to the WiFi or no channels. The internet is connected. I have the Ethernet cable in too and have tried both connections. To get it to work again if the tv gets turned off means Resetting the modem, reconnecting the box and generally taking ages. Anyone else had issues like this as it’s beyond ridiculous. I have recently upgraded my services and now have a stream box. I have downloaded the TV Control app and once I input my log in details it gives me an error message that reads “No valid Tv control account found”. Hi, I have tried all the troubleshooting tips, full reset, etc, and it just will not start. It is connected to my router with the hub in modem mode. It used to work, then one day, I turn off the power, and it cannot get past the advanced setup screen you get by holding down the button. My second third stream box isn’t working. Had one sent out when we started out broadband plan around 18 months ago and it arrived faulty. Contacted Virgin and they sent out a technician who replaced the Stream box with a new one. A few weeks later and the same thing happened. Reported the problem and. Virgin sent out another one. Now, this one has broken. Same issue as always. Done all the trouble shooting steps and it’s just not displaying a picture on the TV. I had Virgin broadband installed on the 22/05/23 and also received a Virgin Stream box. I was not supplied with any manuals/instructions by the engineer, but having followed the instructions online I cannot get the Stream box to work. The box starts up with an orange light and I receive the welcome message on screen, the screen then goes black and the light on the box goes solid purple. The light then stays purple and the TV doesn't recognise anything connected by HDMI until I restart the Stream box and the process repeats. I've been trying to add cinema and sports bundle for the past 3 months. Everytime I contact customer relations they saying it's a problem they cant fix as its upto user to add or remove channels through the application. They told me to remove cinema pack to add bundle pack but not cinema has been removed they still cant add the bundle. Now saying that they are unable to add the package I want and that they have no control over. Hi. I received my Stream box today and have been eager to use it. On first power up I connected it to the internet using the WPS button on my router. The box thought for a bit then threw up the “Error CS1011”. I’ve done the usual power off power one wait etc etc to the hub and the stream box and nothing. Various webchat that don’t go anywhere so I’m already ready to throw it in the bin……hahaha! I also tried to logon to ‘Virgin TV Go’ app and I can’t sign into that at all, says my account has been deactivated 🤷🏻♂️ I can sign into ‘my virginmedia’ to check my bills etc so my account definitely isn’t dead. please please can anyone suggest something else I can try ?
