Socket installation needed - unable to book engineer appointment
I have just received by Quick start Virgin media package (broadband only). I must have forgot to select the engineer visit option during sign up process to install the wall socket. My property used to have one but it was removed some time ago. I am unable to arrange an engineer visit through my online Virgin Media account and can find no option to speak to a human about it on 0345 454 11111 Regards, CathalSolvedIs this my Virgin Media socket?
Hi folks, I've ordered Virgin Media broadband today, the Quickstart pack is being delivered next week. I'm trying to find my VM socket and the only likely suspect I can find is this combo thing, is one of these likely to be a cable connection? The Sat/Sat 2 connections are for satellite TV (I use them for Freesat), the connections marked TV and Radio are presumably the antennas for those services, but could the unmarked coax connector on the right be VM? I've searched all round the flat for anything else, cables sneaking out of walls or blanking plates or anything and I've had no luck. Thanks in advance :)Is this normal?
Hi everyone, I am doing the broadband self installation as we are switching from other network provider. The socket on the wall didn't have silver plug thingy sticking out so I unscrewed 2 screws to have a look. It looks weird with wires sticking out. Is this normal and safe to use? Many thanks in advanceSolvedWall socket
Hello. I received my quick start kit and I don’t have the right wall socket. It has a community fibre socket on the wall. I have phoned the number the arrange an engineer, however when I call they have no clue what I’m talking about and just keep saying they will send me stuff. But they don’t understand I have the wrong type of connection. Also I ordered a tv broadband and phone package and I only received the box more broadband, nothing for tv? Can’t anyone point me in the right direction, as I am so close to just cancelling it all.Virgin wall socket installed in wrong place
Hey, I'm a brand new Virgin Broadband/Fibre customer. The connection was installed yesterday (30/03), and they connected my property to the street cabinet was done last week. I did understand that they 'might' need to drill a hole or two, but I stupidly assumed that this was only for connecting the property to the cabinet last week when they installed the brown box next to the existing entry point for the old phone line. Since they installed it right next to the existing entry point, I assumed the existing wiring would be used for the bit inside the house. It seems I was wrong and since the engineer was asked to put the new router where the old one was, a cable has been installed basically half way around the house to put the wall socket in my living room. I was out and about when the engineer installed the socket/ cabling yesterday, so only when I came home I noticed the cable all away around my house. If I had known that new external cabling was required, I would have asked for the cable to be installed the other way around the property so it's out of sight and the wall socket could have been installed in another room. Is there a way to get this changed? I know I can get an engineer out for a 25 quid fee, but can I asked for this to be waived since I feel I was not well informed about all of this. Thanks
