Landline voicemail not working
I have been having problems with my landline voicemail, people calling in are claiming they cannot leave a voicemail after it rings and I have listened to my voicemail in 1571 and they are leaving messages but there is no audio in the voicemails and they last only a few seconds. I have contacted virgin media support a couple of months ago and they said the issue would be fixed within 24 hours and nothing has happened.37Views0likes5CommentsLandline Voicemail not recording messages
Hi I have noticed my Landline Voicemail is no longer recording messages left. I have tested this by phoning from my mobile and leaving myself a message but the message appears not to have been recorded. The Voicemail says there is a saved message but it is blank when it is played. Thanks61Views0likes6CommentsLandline switch to digital
I’ve noticed my landline isn’t working - just has a constant screeching sound - which having followed the troubleshooting steps suspect is the wiring in/into the socket. Account states no problems with line. Received the email about the digital switchover ages ago but not yet enabled - wondering if it is possible to request a switchover to resolve the issue. Website has no details and chat can’t do anything for landline other than point to the website or provide a phone number. Whilst accept most people have another phone it’s an interesting approach to point to a phone number when you’ve already said the phone isn’t working 🤔 Is there any option to request a digital switchover?48Views0likes1CommentLandline number not ported
Hello, I switched my provider from Sky to Virgin on the 3rd January and have landline, TV and broadband package. On installation I was surprised to hear that I would have a temporary phone number until my existing phone number was ported. The engineer said this would take 2 - 14 days however this was not communicated to me at all when I agreed to the package. My phone number has still not ported. When phoning the number, it says this number is not recognised or it is unallocated. I run a business from home and my landline is used. It is on all my marketing materials and stationary and therefore I really need my previous number back and don't want it to be lost. Please could someone look into this for me? I have tried calling but was told it was scheduled to go through on the 13th January, which has obviously not happened. Thank you63Views0likes1CommentKeeping landline number
Hi, I have received an email from VM saying that my landline number is going to change even though I requested to keep my old one. I think my old number is a VM media number already, so I can't see why it needs to change. My new kit arrives tomorrow and I would really like to get this straightened out before then as having to change my number is a deal breaker for me. I have tried using the customer chat bot but after more than an hour I have to assume it's not working. Thanks in advance!722Views0likes3CommentsAdd landline number with new Gig1 Full Fibre contract

I am a Plusnet customer and would like to port my landline number to Virgin but I can't find information about their Broadband and Phone deals. The page https://www.virginmedia.com/broadband/broadband-and-phone goes back to their main Broadband page. Can anybopdy advise if Virgin has stopped selling landline? Thanks.Solved696Views0likes1CommentLandline/digital voice with FTTP (XGS-PON)
Hi all, family have been using new FTTP service on XGS-PON network alongside old Sky FTTC landline. Sky contract coming to an end so need options for landline. Is this available from VM in XGS-PON areas yet? It still seems to be ‘coming soon’. Any experience using VOIP services on the Hub 5x as an alternative?Solved1.2KViews0likes5CommentsCaller ID not working after engineer visit
Port failure in cabinet stopped phone ringing when caller heard normal ringing tone at their end. Virgin help line spent 45 minutes trying to convince me it was all my fault, but eventually agreed to send an engineer. That fault fixed this morning by engineer who swapped my line to a different port because the old port in the street cabinet had died.. Ringing restored, but now find that Caller ID, which has worked perfectly for years, is now absent. Called Virgin help line. Virgin guy took ages to understand the problem and, afer quite a long call, finished by saying it must be my handset. There are no enabling options at my end and it is no coincidence that the problem followed the port changed. Now Virgin first line has failed to to find a solution, and blames my end for this problem, where do I go now?492Views0likes4CommentsPorting a BT landline number to Virgin
Hello - I know there are threads on this but. am also having no luck taking my BT number to Virgin; as per other community users, both BT and Virgin are claiming each other has to start the process.... leaving me in the middle getting annoyed! Can anyone please assist with a foolproof method of doing this? Many thanks David412Views0likes3CommentsVoice mail
Hi, I joined Virgin media a few weeks ago. Unbeknownst to me, it came with a free voicemail installed. I was not told about this. Unfortunately, it has been intercepting the calls and stopping them from getting to my answering machine, so I do not know when I have messages. I would like this free voicemail to be turned off. I have called the helpline three times; on the first call, I was told it had been turned off. It was not. On the second call, I was told it could take up to 24 hours for it to be switched off. I tried again the next day; the free voicemail was still active and intercepting messages. I called again today and was told it would be 30 days before it was turned off. Please could someone advise me if this is correct? It seems an absurdly long time to wait while Virgin switches off an unwanted free service. I am missing calls from friends and family, because there is no outward sign when there is a message on the Virgin voicemail. Only a slight change in dial tone when a message has been left, and I do not make outgoing calls from my landline and so it is very easy to miss. Could someone please tell me if 30 days is the correct amount of time I will have to wait for it to be turned off? Is there any way to do it sooner so I don’t miss calls? Thank you for your help.1KViews0likes4Comments
