1471 just ringsout

For some reason the 1471 service on my landline has stopped working! If I dial 1471 I just get the ringing tone. I have tried ringing my landline number from my mobile and then check 1471 but the same thing happens.

I hardly get any calls other than scam calls on my landline and my main use of 1471 is to check the numbers of incoming calls. If 1471 doesn’t work I will have to seriously think of ditching my landline (I’m thinking of that anyway as since digitisation it’s pretty useless in a power cut etc)

Is there a quick solution to get 1471 working again?

    And as if by magic 1471 is working again! Should have checked before posting shouldn’t I?!
