I have tried several times over several days to crack this logging in method, which just goes on and on and round and round in circles, and although I have apparently linked my email account to O2 [for some unknown reason], received several emails asking me to verify that it was me, also received several sets 'account recovery' random words, entered my name, account number and area code, the system still won't let me log in as it doesn’t like my password !! although there is an option to create a new one !. I am not sure how I enter my fingerprint, when I am on my desktop machine. As I have said elsewhere on this forum I just want to occasionality log into my VM account, look at my webmail, and more rarely log into my O2 account. How combining them makes them safer I don't know, as if anyone managed to crack the logging in method on one account I suppose that they would have access to both of them. I have stopped trying now as I don't want to make matters worse so please would one of the forum staff contact me to sort this out. I believe that at the end of the month VM are going to alter there side of the log in process, or maybe now that this mess has been created they won't. Re: How am I now supposed to access to my other VM mailboxes? I agree, this is an awful system, just far too complicated, I now cannot sign into either O2 or My VM accounts. codes, recovery codes, that disappear after a few seconds. I can only imagine what will happen at the end of the month when VM are apparently rolling back to a previous logging in system. I don't want my accounts linked, I just want to pay my bills to VM and O2, and to be able to log into them occasionality. that’s all. Re: Ooops - you can't do that right now - ERROR I don't use VM's webmail often, which maybe part of the problem. A short while ago I was able to log into all my VM email addresses, no problem. However just now I tried to log into my non VM email address but was unable to because the address and password did not match aparently. So I wondered if the 31 July log in change had come earlier, so I used one of my VM email addresses and the same password, it logged in no problem, I was also able to log into my other email addresses which have their own passwords. However, when i tried a short time later I got the OOOOOps message, for all my emails. I know that it's a fine line between trying to keep things safe from bad actors but the balance sometimes just makes it difficult for the legitimate user to use, the banks are the same. Fortunately I have a client email account so am able to keep going with my emails. Anyway, currently, I am 'locked' out of my Webmail access, so maybe after the 'little pause', as the message says, things will be back to normal. Could not log into one email address I have had issues recently not being able to log into one of my email accounts. These were resolved by password changes. A couple of days ago the same thing happened again, on the same account, using my email client. I resolved this by entering my app password for that account. I was wondering if this was deliberately triggered by VM as some sort of security thingy ? Re: RE: non VM email I have a total of three VM email accounts. I can access two of them using the pre existing log in details, but since speaking to an agent a few day ago, and changing to a non VM email address I can only see, log into, one of my email addresses using the non VM email address, the log in protocol for the other two addresses remains the same as before. From what you said in your earlier reply, things will only change if and when I go to change the passwords on either of the other two VM email addreses,s have I got it straight now ? Re: RE: non VM email So, to be absolutely clear, once the non VM email has been created it is no longer possible to log in directly to the original email address. Re: RE: non VM email You use an email address to log into your account via my Virgin Media, now you have to use a non Virgin Media email address. When you do that and then navigate to one of your email addresses it's one that you can no longer log directly into. RE: non VM email Am I correct in believing that when a non VM email address is used to access a VM account it supersedes your old one, ie, when used it logs you into your account then when VM emails are accessed from the account home page it takes you to the email address that has been superseded. Re: Cancel engineer appointment If you phone 150, there is an option on one of the Menus to do just that. Just for information. A couple of times recently and over the last few months my WiFi has occasionally become very slow round the house. The speed has always been very good at the router which is wired to a desktop machine. I have two WiFi boosters in the house, one in a room where I use another device. [Apparently you should never use a booster in the same room where you are using a device], I read this on this forum, and another booster upstairs, again in a room where I normally use my device. Both times I have switched the booster on the ground floor off and on again and the speed at the device has gone from 15-20mbps to over a 100mbps., it's also done the same for the speed upstairs. I am using Sam Knows to measure the speeds. I just thought that I would share this to see if it helps anyone else.
