Renting/buying Films

There may already be a thread regarding this, but if there is, I cannot locate it.

Last time I wanted to buy or view a film you simply used the handset to select the one you wanted then the payment was made through your monthly account.

When I tried to do this recently I not only had to create a user name and password but I was also requested to enter the details of a payment card !

It this correct, or are I missing something.  If the above is correct it seems to me to be way 'over the top' . I am loath to enter bank card details when it seems to be completely unnecessary.

    The VM Store is completely separate to your VMO2 account. Renting or buying films from the VM Store is available to everybody, even none VM customers. Purchases and rentals are charged to credit/debit card and not to your VM account.

During the sign up process, you'll need to provide Stripe with the information needed to process payments and authorise Stripe to process payments including by accepting Stripe’s terms of service. If Stripe is unable to process a payment, your order will not be accepted and you will not be able to access or watch the Content you tried to purchase.

    Thanks for your reply. Yes, I understood what they were asking, and what you needed to do, but it just seemed to me that 'they' had made a simple process very much more complicated for no aparent reason.

    Strange how do so many folks manage to subscribe to an evening of Adult content 
    with quick click of the remote and entry of a their PIN !

    You have to provide payment data to Stripe once, so what's the big deal.
