When I tried to login on my handset using data (no wifi) could login so its certainly a virgin router issue. Tried everything - reinstalling apps, restarts same error everywhere. Any ideas anyone ? thanks D. Re: Not getting near my 1gig speed All sorted - got an engineer out - upped me to hub 5 and they did some work on the main box in the street and now getting 800 to 900mbs - so very happy. Overall speed is much slower on all devices than it was before the upgrade/house move to 1gb thanks D. All devices keep losing connection after 5 to 10 minutes Hi, moved home took my hub 4 with me as instructed by virgin. All worked fine until a new cable arrived to connect hub to wall socket. I had upgraded to 1 gig on the home move. Then soon as I switched over the cable - devices connected then loose the connection totally after 5 to 10 minutes. My virgin wifi is not even listed as an available wifi connection. Checked all cables are secure and tight. Did a reboot a number of times - same thing over and over. Does anyone have any ideas or who I can contact for this? I have doubled checked all cables to ensure they are tight - and also power socket - thanks Re: Not getting near my 1gig speed Where does it say that ? so renting a 1gig line they specify they guarantee only 30mg over wifi ? i cant believe that Not getting near my 1gig speed Moved home decided to upgrade from 512 to 1gig , am using the hub 4 router. I never get close to 1 gig download speeds so far. Ran speed test with Samknows, and it shows the router is giving 1gb plus. But all devices / laptops / handsets and so on getting only between 200 and 300 and its worse at night. They also sent me a new cable when I moved home which when I switched it, the router would only work for around 10 minutes before all devices lost all connections. So switched back to my old cable now it works at least. But speeds are dire considering im paying for 1 gig broadband. The hub is clear of any other electrics and nothing blocking it. I do not want to use ethernet either. Any ideas if Virgin can assist with this? I thought at least I would get the latest hub and not be stuck on the hub 4 which has had continually issues the past halfyear. thanks D. I dont get why they sent me the new cable and im not getting anywhere close to 1 gig speed will have to call. cheers Re: reboot hub due to slow speeds now cant connect Hi i found the problem - my own fault! The cable was loose at the back after 2 or 3 reboots I checked. What a fool I am. Soon as I tightened everything up both ends - did a full reboot - it worked back to fast speeds. I know the router had been moved around quite a bit the couch was pressing up against the box in the wall. All sorted now thanks for your reply @Tudor cheers D. reboot hub due to slow speeds now cant connect Hi i upgraded my speed to 1 gig - as i am due to move home on the 3rd April - i have been informed services will remain active in my current home until the 2nd April. this was last week when i booked home move. Now since that call my wifi has been slow - dont know if coincidence. Then tonight did a reboot. I find my wifi connection on my network list on laptop/ devices - it connected then suddenly the virgin wifi network disappears from all devices and wifi goes offline. My hub 4 has continuous white light but its just not visible on any of my devices. Anybody any ideas about this ? thanks D.
