Is Virgin using other servers now? I've switched from VM mail completely. My advice is to use a Google or Microsoft account - they are free and reliable. If you are running Windows, you will probably already have one. Yes, it's a pain to switch, but you only need to do it once. Re: Package renewal - discrepancy over what's included Just spoke to VM on the phone. It seems that the package I'm being offered isn't the same as the package I have. No Netflix and no TNT Sport. Sky Cinema UHD added. Clearly a different package - just how that passes any form of scrutiny by VM beggars belief. This is clearly mis-selling. Re: Package renewal - discrepancy over what's included Thanks for the reply. The e-mail is from email@em.virginmedia.co.uk Package renewal - discrepancy over what's included I've received several e-mails from VM regarding package renewal. They all claim 'same package, same price, no fuss', however the list of included channels doesn't include Netfix or TNT Sport, which are both included in my current package. Before I renew I'd like to be clear that this is a true 'like for like' offer, i.e Netflix and TNT Sport are included. Can someone confirm this please? Additionally, previous advice on this forum has advised that renewals are not carried out via clicking links, so what's the best way to speak to someone? Re: Broadband package renewal email The 'same package' statement is implicit; it's in personal e-mail that refer to the recipients agreement with Virgin. In my case it's Ultimate Volt from almost 18 months ago. Screen shots from the e-mail (x3) and the renewal page (last screen shot) attached Bolehill Re: Broadband package renewal email The renewal offer I received was also packed with creativity from Virgin - 'a little bit more' turns out to be a 10% increase* for the 'same package, same speeds, less hassle'... Except it isn't the same package - Netflix and BTSport/TNTSport were part of my package and they have disappeared. To add them in costs significantly more. To my calculation this is a 10% increase, for what is clearly not the same package Same Virgin, same disingenuity. * renew at the stated price which will increase by RPI +3.9% within days! i.e about another 8 to 10% Re: Introducing the new Virgin Media Community The best on-line fora are structured, searchable resources, usually aimed at helping others to solve a problem. Read and Unread items need to be clearly demarcated so the reader knows what's appeared since they last logged on. I have to agree with gitty above - the provision of a 'load more' button suggests this forum is now simply something to be browsed at leisure. Not good! Re: Virgin Media price increase 2023 — what can customers do? The most important thing in any contract you consider, is to think carefully about how you can get out - when, at what cost and to what alternative. Two months to plan for an alternative sounds like plenty of time, but may well be insufficient when supplier lead times are taken into consideration. Re: Virgin Media price increase 2023 — what can customers do? In my own experience VM don't forewarn of price increases. The only notification you will get is when your contract expires and your new 'out of contract' price is set in your monthly bill. That's the time to call them and re-negotiate or inform them you are leaving. You can get some idea of price changes by checking their website from time to time to see what new customers are being offered, but that would only be a guide. Existing customers always seem to pay more!
