I'm on the M500 package, and recently had the volt benefits added ( as I'm also an O2 customer ). Yet when I do the speed test, I still only get M500 speeds, rather than 1Gb which is the next level up. I have a hub 5x.
How do I get this resolved, as sitting and chatting to the customer support bot is somewhat soul destroying??
The experience I've had with virgin fibre so far, has been somewhat disappointing:-
1. Hub 5x - limited configuration options (eg no modem mode), poor wifi signal and not that stable
2. Wasn't informed that the O2 contract had to be a personal one. I've had to switch from my business contract to receive the volt benefits
3. No broadband speed boost despite having the benefit added.

I didn’t think the "volt" benefits could be applied if you had a Hub5x.

Volt benefits should elevate you to the next speed. I see no information anywhere which states it is not available for Hub 5x. ( The hub 5x is the xgspon connection, which should support up to 2Gb ). If the hub is incapable of that, then virgin are mis selling their product.

It might be worth contacting Customer Services to see what they can do.
In regards to the O₂ contract, I'm sure they would've told you that in the Terms and Conditions so they can't really be blamed for that.

I rang customer services and finally got to speak to a real person. Couldn't see anything wrong with the line, and asked me to give it 48hrs. I've given it over a week, and still no change. If I use samknows, it tells me my package is Virgin Media, 1000x100. That implies the volt benefits have been applied, but still the download/upload speeds are showing 500/50. ( This is speed from the router to fibre, not wifi btw ). Is there anyone with a 5x hub that has got 1Gb speeds or more??
