Virgin 360 - recordings

Question, when you have multi room each box allows you to record up to six programmes at a time on each box, with the virgin 360 system recordings are pooled, i.e. you have to select your own recordings by way of selecting "recorded on this box". Does this mean that you can only record a maximum of 6 now as oppose to the 12 on two boxes?

Additionally if one person deletes a recorded programme, which the other user has not watched do you have to recover the deleted item again now as oppose to being able to delete your own recording on your own box as recordings are now pooled.

If the above is the case, I would rather not do the upgrade and go back to the older version.

You can record a maximum of 6 on each box providing they are both main boxes ( they were both migrated from V6 boxes ).  You can fine tune the recordings between boxes by clicking on the red Record button, then on the next screen click Advanced Options, then on the next screen click on Choose TV Box, then select the box, then click on Record. That program will then be recorded on that box going forward, even if the default recording box is one of the others

Additionally if one person deletes a recorded programme, which the other user has not watched do you have to recover the deleted item again now as oppose to being able to delete your own recording on your own box as recordings are now pooled.

There is no undelete function on the 360.

If the above is the case, I would rather not do the upgrade and go back to the older version.

thanks for the reply, just a quick follow up question to this then. If you fine tune the recording to your specific box that still allows anyone under multi room to delete the recording YES? This is different to the older version where you had total control of your own V6 box.

Noted on the undelete function - why VM do not tell you these things beforehand I will never know, at least allow the user/customer to make the decision given all of the information.

Just as an aside, something that is not noted in the brochure or video on YouTube for the remote, you can frame by frame advance your recording by way of the "pause/play" button then either the forward/backward button

Sorry but yes, all users can delete recordings made on any box

There are a few variations not listed in the brochure/video for the remotes. This may be due to the amount of updates that the 360 has received since it was first introduced and those brochures.videos were produced.

I haven't checked but I;m pretty certain that not all of the following are noted/listed :-

To skip forwards/backwards 15 minutes in recordings - press MIC and say "go forward 15 minutes" or "go back 15 minutes". You can also say "fast forward 10 minutes" or whatever amount of time you want. To avoid adverts on streamed & on demand say "skip forward three minutes" or "fast forward 3 minutes" etc

The left and right arrow buttons either side of the OK button skip forward 30 seconds and back 10 seconds.

If you press the fast forward button above the '3' key, you have 4 speeds depending on how many times you press the button, when fast forwarding you can press the TV button to turn off the graphics, you can then press the play button to start watching.

When fast forwarding press TV button and that will switch off the fast forward arrows etc. For Stop press the back button or pause button, TV button also stops and puts you back to TV.

To play back in slow motion press pause then Fast Forward
