360 not recording

360 Does Not Record
I have just upgraded V6 box to 360. I have tried to record and it says "Virgin TV1 is offline". I do not know what this means. I have read other posts on this site and it refers to 'main box' and 'mini' showing images of both. The 360 box supplied to me is very small and seems to be the same as the mini box in the image, which is stated as being unable to record. I still have the V6 box, which I had to 'convert' using the second supplied remote. What am I supposed to do with the V6 box? Have I been supplied with the wrong 360 box?

  • Hi Alpal,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to our community.

We're sorry to hear you're unable to record on the 360 box.

Has the advise from the community here resolved this?

If not, please try restarting your TV box and WiFi hub. Ensure all cables, including the power and HDMI cables, are securely connected.

Please pop back to us when you can.

In TV360-land, boxes are either "master" ones with a hard drive and recording facility, or "mini" ones that can view live TV but rely on the master box for recording facilities.

The master needs to be in "active start" or "fast start" in order that recordings can be scheduled on it, from the mini-box.

How do I know if the box I've been supplied is a main box? Is the V6 box now totally redundant?

Still no further on. I have one cable access point and 2 boxes - the original V6 box and the 360 box. I am informed on the community that the V6 box is the master box for recording. Do I reconnect this? If so what do I do with the 360 box?

You need to migrate the V6 to 360, then the 360 mini will be able to work with the 360.

So, the old V6 box is now a 360 master box with a hard disk. So all recordings will be made on this whether you set them from the mini box or the master. Ensure the master box is set to "active start" or "fast start" in the power settings. If it is then it is likely you have an account problem with your 2 boxes not being linked at the server end.

Do I have to reconnect the V6 box then? If so what do I do withe 360 box? I only have one cable access point.

    You no longer have a V6, it's a 360 once migrated.

You need a splitter and a coaxial cable for the 360 mini box, call VM to send a tech round to sort it out. Note that like the 360, the 360 mini box also needs a connection to the hub by either Ethernet cable (best) or WiFi. I think the length of Ethernet cable which VM supplies is 3m, so if you want a longer one then get it yourself (best done before the VM tech arrives).
