Program jumps forward on recordings and when playing a program from the start rather than live

Does anyone suffer from programs jumping forward or to the end when playing from the start rather than live. Also jumps forward when playing recorded programs. Have now had 6 replacements boxes in a 6 week period. A couple of the replacements had either noises hard drive. Faulty power lights or other issues, and to give virgin their dues they have replaced all of them without complaint. Big problem is they have all had this same issue and when talking with virgin techs they have no idea as to the cause. Have seen several other comments with similar issues, has anyone found a solution.

must say as friendly as all virgin staff are, and their telephone manner is always very polite, ( if I can understand them) as their accents can be quite strong. They just stick with the list of answers they are given and seem unable to think outside of the box, which means most problems never really get solved if they are outside of their remit.

would love to change supplier but have limited choice in my area and seems most companies are just the same.

Hi there @Magwitch01

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.

I am so sorry that you have faced this issue with all recordings? I know you have mentioned you have had replacement boxes has an engineer come out at all to take a look?

Yes 6 times

Thanks for coming back to us @Magwitch01.

Check out the envelope in the top right hand corner for a private message from me and I'll take some details from you and feed this ongoing matter back to the local area field managers to see if they can help shed any light on this one for us.

Thanks,

Did this get resolved please? My mum has the same problem with her V6 box. She can be watching live tv but has had it on pause at some point during the day (so she’s maybe running 5 minutes behind), and she has a scheduled series link recording the same programme…all of a sudden the programme will jump to “real time” and skip forward several minutes. Obviously if she’s watching on a delay of more than a few minutes, she can have jumped a huge chunk of her viewing. I’ve looked through all the settings I can find but can’t see anything like an “auto play recording”. I’ve told mum that the work around is to watching everything from her recorded programmes, but she’s 90 years of age so would rather keep it simple for her.

Hi @Kat_x

Does your mum have a V6 box or a 360 box?   The thread you've posted in is for a TV360 box which is a different opertating system.

Hi @Kat_x thanks for your post here although we're sorry to hear of the concerns you've raised here.

Sometimes, this can happen when the box itself runs out of memory as pausing does rely on hard-drive space as well as recording.

Can you check to see what percentage is used up please, you can do this by going into the recordings folder and it should show a percentage towards the left of the screen?

Many thanks
