Unable to record programs or pause live TV.

All recordings fail reporting a technical error, along with pausing live TV which shows a CS2000 error. I last rebooted the box (V6 running 360) last Thursday and it took around 1.5 hours to eventually come back. I don't want to do this again as I am afraid it won't come back up at all, as at least I can still watch TV in its current state. All Apps are working ok, but I have had random issues with saved credentials as well.

Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Hey,

I had similar issues with my V6 box after upgrading to 360 including not being able to record, credentials not saving and apps like ITVX coming up with an error.

I did have an engineer booked to come up tomorrow but I tried a factory reset as it worked for some people and low and behold it fixed every issue for me. So might be worth trying a factory reset if you haven't already see if it helps. Please bare in mind though I don't work for Virgin this is just my experience.

To factory reset you can press the home button on your remote and then: Settings (the cog icon at the end of the Home menu) > System > Factory Reset

When asked about recordings I chose to Format Disk to be on the safe side. This deletes any recordings but there were none on there anyway.

    Hope this helps.

The 360 wasn't really designed for recordings. It's little more than a glorified streaming box. It's what the advertisers want so you can't  ff through adverts. Their needs come first.

Get rid of the 360 and get a freeview recorder, much more economical.

There's no such thing as a "V6 running 360" or similar. When the box runs TiVo-software, it's known as a V6. When you convert to TV360, you are reformatting the hard drive and installing Horizon-software instead of TiVo.

It's a bit like saying "Windows 10 laptop running Windows 11" - the two platforms are completely different, and is something that the marketing can never be expected to point out.

This is interesting information, I probably just got the terminology wrong. However, this wasn't really my question or problem.

Your terminology was absolutely perfect. Your box originally came with V6 software, then you installed an update and it became 360 software.

And don't worry, his Windows analogy is completely incorrect too. Its certainly possible to have a "Windows 10 laptop running Windows 11". If you bought a Windows 10 laptop, then updated it to windows 11, you unequivocally have a "Windows 10 laptop running Windows 11."
