Why is the 360 interface so bad?
There are many quality of life features of the old interface which has just been dropped on the new interface.
Fast forwarding through your recorded shows, there is always a delay of a second or two from pressing play to the device playing the show. The old interface would take that delay into account by taking the video back another 20 seconds or so. This resulted in the video playing a couple of seconds before or right on where you wanted it to play. Great!
360 interface? No compensation for delays, especially for the devices increased lag. Fast forward and press play and the device has a think for 2 seconds while still fast forwarding and then plays it from there, resulting in the video playing several mins past where you wanted. You'll then spend the next 5 mins, fast-forwarding and rewinding, yo-yo-ing too far forward and too far back trying to get it to play at the right place.
Dont even get me started on the rewinding live TV. Old Tivo you can rewind and when you are finished, press the stop button and it went back to live. Now, I have to fast-forward through reach live.
This also affects on demand apps like the iPlayer or 4OD. When I want to STOP the show playing and go back to the menu, there is no stop button. There's a pause button, but pause doesn't stop it. Pressing the TV button asks if I want to go watch Live TV.
And Recorded shows.
Why is it like that? Why is the option at the very end of menu when it used to have its own dedicated button? I have to press the home button, then scroll right, through each lagy menu option (as it loads the bloatware for each option) to get to the my recordings option.
Why is the list of shows why is it displayed like that? The front page shows 4 recorded shows and the next 4 planned shows. Why does a list of things planned to be recorded have the same importance as things that have actually been recorded? And why is so much effort to just get a list of shows in alphabetical order like we used to have?
The 360 interface is definition of form over function. Since upgrading it we have actively avoided using it. The TV service could go down and I wouldn't notice.
I wish I hadn't downgraded to the 360, I just wondered if anyone else has the same feeling.

360 has proven to be utterly useless as far as I am concerned. Can't extend recordings when there are delays. Can't access SD channels when HD channels are pixelated. Can't make multiple recordings of the same programme if it is on again within a week. Can't record radio. I had hoped Sky Sports + would have been worthwhile, but even that doesn't work properly compared to NOW TV. Can't access the highlights of any EfL game directly and have to go through umpteen shows to find the game I want. Pretty sure I went through 30 last week to find the Orient game which spanned two different entries.

As for not being forced to convert, in effect I was because there was no other means of getting Sky Sports +. And a few weeks in, I would happily revert back and not have Sky Sports + because it is utterly useless on VM compared to NOW TV where you can select the game you want without trying 30+ games to find your game and then find the second half is on another game.

I do, I actually really like the 360 interface.
Personally, I prefer to to the Tivo and V6 systems
I understand it's not for everyone and I agree it does take some getting used to, but I think it's great.

It's not for me and I would like to go back. I don't understand why that is not possible.

"Nobody is forced to convert". This is the cybermen's 'modus operandi', be warned....
The delay to putting Sky+ on the V6 was a cunning trap. The Cyber controller at the head of VM should be proud. They can't afford Tivo anylonger, they need everyone to be downgraded to their cheap as chips Horizon inferior platform, aka the 360. Shareholder dividends depend on it.

hey @arrgee1991 you keep mentioning this issue with Sky Sports+ but I havent seen this in any other forums or in my own testing of the Sky Sports+ service.
It's not something thats provided by Virgin, its a Sky developed app that should be the same on their platforms as it is on ours. It's new, so may have some teething issues but I havent yet seen the problem you describe (Although I'm an Ipswich fan so been less engaged than I would have been with it the last few seasons!). I'll have a check during the next EFL or Cup multicast.

@BlueLou - try to watch Bristol City v Millwall. Say "EFL". Select Bristol City v Millwall. It shows Derby v Middlesbrough.

@arrgee1991 that’s not sky sports+. I’m watching the EFL trophy on sky sports+ right now and all working fine.
I also just did as you said and it’s Bristol City vs Millwall. 15 min highlights. Banger of a game. I really liked that Sinclair Armstrong last season he was great against us for QPR.

@BlueLou - it is still Derby V Middlesbrough. Unless Bristol City or Millwall are now nicknamed The Rams.

I just can’t replicate that I don’t know what’s gone on. I can only see the replay of it now so perhaps if there was an issue sky fixed it when they re uploaded the asset to Virgin’s platform
