Matt
what I dont understand is that things are not "consistently wrong". I ring my landline every day from my O2 mobile (ex Virgin), one day I get the UK ringtone and the next day the International tone. Or I can ring twice within minutes and get the different tones. So it is not dependent upon the "type of phone ringing the type of phone"?
Thanks for coming back to us jimgironde.
Can you confirm if the engineer has visited your property in relation to this matter?
If so, please advise us of any updates available.
Thanks,

"I understand that Gareth has advised that he is currently working to get some more information on this, and once a fix for the issue has been released to the firmware, we'll be sure to let you know."
Can someone please prompt Gareth to chase up & give us an update on this thread as it's been a couple of months...even if it's just to tell us there is no update!

Hello hotlips69
Sorry for the delayed reply.
I do have an update for you.
If a call is made from a 21CV phone then the dial tone will remain the same as it has always been.
If a call is made from another network, mobile or the old standard telephone line. Then it will go though our exchange as what we call an off net call. This is when the international dialling tone appears.
The bottom line is depending who is calling who, it is possible to get different ring back tones and the only call case that we can 100% control on 21CV is a 21CV to 21CV call.

Thanks Gareth for update, I'm not too tech savvy so my next question is what is a 21CV phone? Does it mean that if the landline handset calling me is a digital touch tone phone using old style copper wiring network,or even old style rotary, which to be fair are pretty obsolete nowadays, then that's when the problem is present? Also why would this not show correct caller display info at our end?
Cheers.
