VGC-4277600256:4277600256 error

I can watch videos fine but anything live,  not a chance.
deleted...reinstalled, cleared all  app data, followed all guides on previous issues with this on here.

  • Hi LEEEVANS69

That's normally an error with Sky Sports due to using a VPN (even VPN browser extensions that you may not know are active) or having snipping tool/screen capture programs, or in some cases chat windows, teams etc that can take screenshots/videos open.

When you removed the app data did you   also remove the hidden files and folders the desktop app uses?

    - Uninstall the Sky Sports Player app

    - Type 'run' in the search bar and open the 'Run' app

    - Type in '%AppData%' and click 'OK'

    - Delete the 'Sky Sports' folders

    - Click back on 'AppData' and go into the 'LocalLow' folder

    - Click on the 'Cisco' folder, then the 'VideoGuard' folder

    - Delete the 'SKY_GB-SKY_SKYSPORTS' folder

    - Restart you computer

    - Download the Sky Sports Player app again

  • Hi there LEEEVANS69 👋 Welcome back to our forum and thanks for your post.

        Hi LEEEVANS69,

Can you please confirm that you're not using a VPN?

      Phew !!!

Thanks for updating the thread LEEEVANS69

If you do ever find out what it actually was that prevented you accessing the live sports please let us know as may help others.

  • Have the same problem.  Been working fine until last two days. VPN is off and have installed, cleared cookies and folders and actioned the LOCALLOW and AppData deletion solutions.  Still the same..

As above I reinstalled windows to cure mine. If you have a system restore date saved, try that first

Hey Jonesey Thanks for reaching out to us on the Virgin Media forums. 👋🏽

I'm sorry to see this happen.
Can you confirm what it is you are trying to do and on what device you are using?

  • Hi and thanks for getting back to me

One of the suggestions mentioned above was to restore Windows from an earlier Restore Point.

This I did but when it got to restoring the registry, it took about 25 minutes before I got a message telling me that it was unable to restore the registry. It then rebooted and took me to my desktop

After which I was able to watch Live Sport again

So maybe a simple reboot might have solved the original program, but all is good now
