I was also nearly caught out by this scam which was quite convincing. If it is as common as you suggest why have Virgin not published this in the form of a warning E mail to all virgin broadband customers. I was not aware of it suggest Virgin share this with the community,

This type of scam has been going on for a number of years now. How often should Virgin send the suggested email out? Every year? Every month? Every week? It will just annoy those that already know & will likely end up in most peoples SPAM folder as yet another nuisance Email.
