I've just updated to a hub 5 from a hub 3 which i had in modem mode with tplink devices attached to sort out a lot of issues. For people with who use modem mode on your router is this still advisable for hub5

Yes to Modem mode on the Hub 5 + the TP Link Mesh so as to maintain good Wi-Fi coverage around the home.

If you are on M500 or lower I'd stick to modem mode.

On Gig1 you'll lose some badwidth due to 1Gbps Ethernet ports on the tplink devices, so I'd, personally, recommend router mode and put the tplink in ap mode.

Unless of course you aren't fussed about losing 212Mbps (1152 vs 940Mbps).

Try the hub 5 in router mode, if this doesn't work put in into modem mode and use your TP-Link again.
