Hi all,
I've just moved and have taken my router with me. I have been on the phone to customer service today and asked if I could set up myself. In my property there is a coaxial cable of some kind coming through the wall that connects to my Hub 3. I've plugged it in and I'm getting a green flashing light and a wifi icon light. On devices the hub shows up, but says 'connected without internet'.
Given that installation fees are £100+, I was wondering whether I'm on the right track here and don't need to have a technician over, or if I'm barking up the wrong tree and trying to do something that isn't possible without some sort of modification to the cabling etc. How can I tell if this is the right cable? How can I tell if I need a technician? I tried to ask the lady over the phone but she took that as me needing an appointment, put me on hold, then told me I'd need to call a different department to cancel if I no longer wanted the appointment.
