I was hoping someone might be able to advise/suggest a solution to my install query.
I am looking to change from sky to virgin for tv and broadband but have some install questions i cannot find answers to.
Firstly mu current set up. BT/Sky broadband, FTC with the master socket in the dining room, router next to it. Sky TV in the lounge, TV is on the opposite side of the living room to the outside wall (terraced house) with a working fireplace in between outside and inside wall the side that the TV is on. Sky cable runs down outside wall of living room, under the floor and then comes up to a double cox socket. all cabling is run inside the wall and no cables are visible inside the property.
What I had originally hoped was that the virgin cable could come in and terminate immediately at the front of the living room and that the 360 box could connect wireless to the router but now have had it clarified that the box still needs a hard wired coax connection to the entry point at the wall.
Main question is, what are my options other than a cable running across the room/skirting, which i don't want. I want like my current sky setup, hidden cables. happy to have entry point with the "white box" at the wall then cable running to router which i would relocate to the location. Its the cable to the 360 box that i don't want run though the house.
Is there a way of disconnecting the existing sky cox double cable and that being used for the connection?
If i have to have a big cable on show, I would not go with virgin

absolutely i can run the cable under the floor, its the run up and down the wall though as i wanted the cable to come out of the existing wall gang that sky comes out of

Hello chrisl01.
Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.
It's hard to visualise your home set up from here, however with your explanation and the advice given by @Roger_Gooner this would be the best option.
If you did decide to join us it might be worth keeping your existing supplier active alongside our services. Should the installation be a problem then you will still have a backup service.
We could also arrange a pre installation visit to discuss the routing of the cables.
This can only be done once you've signed up before being given an installation date.
