What VM red box are you referring to exactly?

Never seen that before. Are you in the R.O.I. - where all the VM kit is different to that we have here in the UK?

As Adduxi alluded to its an ONT unit... here is how it was described by VM... but do post up the Hub data

An ONU (Optical Network Unit) is used in RFOG (Radio Frequency over Glass) connected areas. RFOG was used in areas VM rolled out fibre to the property but didn't have a fibre only CPE capabibility - so the fibre goes into the ONU and coax comes out into the CPE. VM don't rollout this type anymote - all new areas are fibre only straight into the Hub 5x's fibre connection.
