As a previous Virgin Media customer, I am extremely angry that I am unable to get Virgin broadband at the address where we now live. I have tried for 9 years to get the service, but the postcode availability checker repeatedly says it's not available in my area. BUT our neighbours have access to the "GIG1" service. Words fail!!! We have no choice but to use the vastly inferior BT or SKY services, which are available.

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community Forums.
I'm sorry to hear that your address is showing as unserviceable, despite your neighbours being active customers with us. Whilst there can be various reasons why a property may be unserviceable, even with neighbouring properties active, I can understand the frustration.
What I can do is arrange for a spotter to visit your property and see if there are any real reasons why we can't service your property. If we can, we can add the property on the system and address any constructional work that may be required before your property is ready for installation.

There are some roads where houses on one side only are serviced. It is all down to expense & network capacity. VM do not have a USO (Universal Service Obligation) like BT/Openreach have, so they are not obliged to serve every property.
