Red light on hub

I have a red light on my hub 3. Always been white before, I rang Virgin and was told as I have wi fi it's OK and don't worry. I have read that it could be overheating or some other things. As it is obviously faulty why can't I have a new hub? Nobody wants to help me.

Hi there @Julianslapp

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forum, its great to have you here.

I am so sorry that you have faced this issue with your Hub but not to worry we can certainly assist here.

Can I ask if the Hub is in an open and well ventilated area? Also have you been able to try pushing a pen etc into the reset hole at the back of the Hub and hold in for 30 seconds?

A VM person will respond here soon.   Be aware that you will in all likelihood be issued with a refurbished Hub3 - there are no more "new" Hub3's

Thankyou for your reply. The Hub is in awell ventilated area, the same place it has been for 7 years. I haven't tried the pinhole thing at ghe back yet as I thought I would ask about the problem first,  because I have seen so many posts on the Internet saying it doesn't work, but I will try that znd let you know how it goes. Is it true that I would get a second hand hub if it needed replacing because that is not acceptable and it would mean me changing provider, which I don't really want to do at this time,

Hi, I have now tried the reset twice with a pin, it did reset but still got a red light.

I have reset it but still red, sometimesits whie, sometimes red, can you help.

What’s the matter with the Forum Team?  Pinhole reset achieves nothing ion these circumstances.  With hundreds of posts complaining of red light on that wretched Hub 3, it should be an automatic replacement (and not with another Hub 3).

The thing is overheating and is a potential fire risk.  VM should take this far more seriously and act quickly.

VM are not interested.

Hi @Julianslapp

Thanks for confirming about the reset being done.

You'll now need an engineer visit so I'll PM to arrange.
