Hi,
We have been able to pause devices as and when needed for some time now. However, my 12 year old son has somehow managed to bypass it and stop his tv (YouTube etc) from staying paused. Can anyone advise how he has done this and how I can get back one step ahead of the little cherub!

A MAC address is used by VM as the mechanism to pause a unique device.
Most mobile phones can use a random MAC address.
If the TV is Android based it's possible there could be an option to randomize the MAC address, so there is nothing you can do.
Or they could be switching between wired and wireless (Each interface will have a different MAC address so you'd need to pause both!).

Might as well blame god for you not to control your sons eyes and ears
because this is a TV you can get a smart plug then build a box around it
