Network router hub 5 issues sometimes

Nicholas2005
On our wavelength

Hey there I'm having issues with are houses WiFi, so ever since the new hub it doesn't do it as much.

The issue is the contant disconnections, up and down speeds and it's only when we ring em up it settles again. We also have had issues where the router restarted once and forgot itself and a new ssid for the router for some reason.

It might be the power up and down levels but it gets enough wattage and fine connection. I have checked the connections multiple times.

The issue is my mom is the WiFi holder, and she pays for it out of my money but she doesn't like the hassle of the support but for a service we pay like_70-100 for this is bad. Yes we have alot of devices but even then it should handle it in bandwidth control on the DHCP. It has happend on every hub

If a support agent sees this I'm happy to pass my mom's details or have look to send a engineer if any issues or upgrades. I am 20 but she gets the money from me for better speed because my hobby and future work is internet based as a IT network technian.

Please help

Please supply some stats, details below:

How to get stats from a VM hub (no need to logon to the hub)

Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1 router mode or 192.168.100.1 modem mode

  • Click on the “> Check router status” button
  • Click on the “Downstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply, do not take a screen shot
  • Click on the “Upstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply
  • Click on the “Networking” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply.
    • Do NOT post photos or screen shots they will be rejected as they contain MAC addresses. The board software will automatically change MAC addresses to **:** if done as above.

You need to forget using the hub in router mode and get yourself a better router with 1Gb ports with hub in modem mode.

This is a near duplicate of the post of 2nd Jan :

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/Network-connection-issues-on-the-gigabit-sp...

If you have a service fault, your mother needs to report that to VM again, but be very specific.
e.g. do you have a connection stability issue ( lets see the Hub's signal stats )
or do you have a Wi-Fi coverage issue ( invest in some more Wi-Fi coverage equipment )

What ever you do, do not use the phrase "Wi-Fi" as a general term for an internet connection, the VM Hub or Ethernet connections.

Hi @Nicholas2005 thanks for your post although we're sorry to hear of the concerns you've raised here.

We have ran some checks on our side and there aren't any issues on the line we can see at the moment, how have things been for you since your post is this still ongoing for you?

Can you come back to us with the tests as advised here in the thread?

Many thanks
