Hub 3 Red Light & Heat radiating

Hi,

I'm having issues with my Hub 3. There's a continuous red light and heat radiating from it, almost like a radiator. I tried the pin hole reset and left the the router off the whole night but no improvement. I called but they said it's fine. I have been with VM for nearly 10 years and can't get a new router. I was thinking of upgrading to M500 but not with this broken router. Which hub will I get with the M500 package?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I am so sorry to hear that you have faced this issue with your service and thank you again for posting and trying to resets. I am sorry that this has not helped, but lets take a look via a private message and get an engineer to come take a closer look.

Thanks so much for your private message and confirming your address, I have now booked you a visit for your Hub issue– you can check the date and time via your online account here. If you have any issues with accessing your online account or unable to see your visit, please do let us know and we’ll pop you a message to confirm.
There will be no charge for this visit unless:
• The engineer diagnoses the faults as not being caused by our network/equipment 
• The engineer discovers that the fault or problem relates to your equipment
• The engineer discovers that the fault or problem relates to any system that we are not responsible for
The engineer will confirm during their visit if any of these instances apply, and if so, a £25 charge will be applied to your account. 
Please ensure there is someone over the age of 18 present at the time of the visit. If you need to change or cancel your appointment you can do this online or via the My VM app by 4pm the day before the appointment.
If you do miss an agreed appointment for any reason, a £25 missed appointment charge will be applied to your account on the day of the appointment

Any replacement Hub 3 will be a 'refurb' - nobody makes them any more.  So it'll happen again.  So, resist another Hub 3.   M500 gives you a Hub 4 (also no longer made) or a Hub 5.  If you get a Hub 4, remove the CONNECT app if you're currently using it before connecting the Hub 4.  The wretched CONNECT app screws the Hub 4 so that you can neither use the app nor get into the Hub 4 settings.
