I've had a Google and look on here and can't find a solution that works for me.
I've had a hub 2 and 3 tapo c200 cameras connected for a year. No problems, really simple to use and great for checking on the house when we're away.
I've now upgraded to a hub 4 last week and cannot get them to work, can get them to connect locally but not to use when I'm outside of the home as they previously did.
I've tried buying a tapo tp link wireless extender to be able to change the dns address to 8.8.8.8 as the tapo cameras software suggests but it's not working.
I'm so frustrated with something which should work quite easily but causing me all sorts of issuea. Can anyone help with this please?

There are numerous threads on here with the same issue with lots of other devices - cameras etc. do a search and apply the solutions to them.
Root cause is the SH2 broadcast the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands on separate SSID's whilst the Hubs combine them into one as part of their "Intelligent wifi" - this confuses some 2.4 GHz only devices - you need to circumvent that on the new Hub with one of those solutions.

Thank you for that, as per my initial post I have searched here and tried what's been suggested both here and on other sites (tapo forums, reddit etc) and I've not found a solution that works which is why I am still asking for help.
Whilst I understand what you're saying, I've not found a workable way to circumvent the new hub so if someone could advise me I'd really appreciate it.

get your own router with 1Gb ports put hub in modem mode

TBH - I would adopt legacy1's solution - in fact I did - 20+ years ago 😎
A good new wireless router can be had for ~£40-50 and should sort this issue and also provide better wifi coverage. Spend more for additional advanced“features” - if required.

A change of VM Hub may well have resulted in your connection having a new Public IP.
Hence the process that allowed remote access is left pointing at a VM Hub & IP that no longer exist.
Have been through the complete installation process to re-connect to the Tapo cameras
i.e. to re-do whatever it is that makes it possible to access them remotely ?
Refer to the manual and setup steps for the details of the process.

Thanks to all who've offered help! I was advised to try using an old phone connected to my WiFi as a mobile hot-spot and connect through that and it's worked a treat!

Do you understand why that works ( I don't ) and if that solution fails tomorrow then what ?

Hello Bizzy_g13,
Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your cameras since the change to our hub4 but glad that you have been able to get the issues resolved. Please do let us know if you have any further issues.
Kind Regards,

I presume you think that the cameras are clients of the “old phone” which thus has to remain connected to the Hub 4.
The correct way, which the OP hasn’t fully confirmed to have been tried, is to disable 5GHz WiFi on the Hub; install the cameras on the 2.4GHz WiFi; reinstate 5GHz WiFi.
