I have had VM installed and had a blind spot, after some tooing and froing with the team at VM they agreed to send me a pod free of charge. I have tried it and it will not work, talked with technical and they said because i have had to split the 2.4 and 5ghz networks it wont work. I have now asked for a return bag. Today they said they want to charge me for the Pod after it was agreed that it was free for a short time, VM worst customer service ever

I'd return the VM Pod asap.
Take look for a Wi-Fi Repeater like the example shown below that does support split SSIDs :

I've never heard of VM sending any kit out FOC for testing? Trying to get a sale?, lock you into £8pm for Pods?
You would be better to get your own extender that is not under the control of VM, plus your can keep it if you ever change ISP.

The fault team agreed to take the charge away. so i thought all was good only to get a email saying the charge was being credited by £5 which means they still want me to pay £3, i talked to billing and they said they would make the change but it is still showing on the bill. I must have spent over two hours talking with billing and technical team on cots and the pod and again today, I have only been with VM less than a month and have had to connect via WhatsApp or telephone more than 10 times

I have put a TP Link Router set up as an AP and the settings for 2.4 and 5 are the same as the SSID on VM, works a dream and full house coverage now

Excellent news! At least you now have control over your own extender 🙂
