Renewing contract

On our wavelength

What a joke today trying to renew my contract. I was first quoted £180 but with a discount it would be £116. My daughter is not with Virgin so using her address I looked for a package similar to my one and was quoted £85. Again I went on to Virgin and again was quoted the ludicrous £180 but this time reduced to £113. This is about £25 more than I’m paying just now.

This has been mentioned on here a lot recently where the inital renewal price offered is very uncompetitive.

Arm yourself with VM's new customer price and the 'standard' price for the package you want. Any renewal price is likely to be between the two (although some end up with much better or worse depending on their haggling skills). Also find out prices for competitors you can access and have that info to hand.

Many have reported they only go a decent renewal after cancelling although some also report no further offer came after cancelling and they had to leave VM so you should be prepared to follow through and leave if you do put in a cancellation.

Hi lobsters15,

Thank you for your post. We're sorry to hear you're unhappy with the available offers for your renewal.

The deals you would have been looking at through your daughters address would be new customer offers and so wouldn't be something an existing customer would have access too.

The team would have still provided the best available existing customer offers for that package you wanted.

Were you able to come to a renewal deal with the team?
