I tripped and injured my ankle due to a damaged virgin media chamber and wanted to know how to start a personal injury claim. I now need to take time off work so won’t get paid (self employed).

Knows their stuff

Your best course would be through a solicitor to ensure you maintain control.

VM are the defendant and will attempt to manipulate you and have you jumping through hoops to kick the can down the road until you get totally stressed and go away. It will obvious!y assist if you have injury photos if applicable and any medical records available.

Contact with VM should be kept at a minimum while you are potentially in dispute and should certainly not seem advice from them.

Good luck with it

As advised do not engage directly with VM over your injury claim. Just tell them where the chamber is for repair purposes. Check if your home insurance/union membership etc provides free legal advice cover. Failing that go to Citizens Advice.

I'd be careful jumping through hoops, you may have an accident.
