Moving house created a new 18 month contract

I am currently in an 18 month contract for broadband which ends only on April 2024. Today I contacted virgin media for changing my home. They said my contract will be same till April and I need to pay the same amount as usual and will get a confirmation email soon. But after few hours I got a welcome email from virgin media with a new account number and new 18 month contract which ends only on July 2025 and that too with a high amount to pay each month. I am still on my current contract and not even changed my package. I am just moving my house. So how virgin media can create a new 18 month contract with me just for moving my house and that too when my current contract is not ended. According to my current contract I am paying virgin media 15 pound and O2 sim 14.07 and still on this contract till April2024. But my new contract stating I have to pay 44 a month just for virgin media alone from next month. There is something wrong happened. When I called them they said me to ignore the email. But how I can ignore as virgin media have created a new contract that too with a high amount.  I need someones help on this. Please

Hi Marysimon91 👋🏼.

Thank you for posting and welcoming you onto the community forum 😊.

Sorry to see you are having issues whilst moving house ☹.

You are able to take your contract with yourself when you move. However if you decide to change the package then you may have a new contract whilst moving.

I will be able to further investigate 🧐 however I will need to private message you.

Please watch our for the envelope ✉.

Thank you.
