Contract ended bills continue

Tuning in

My contract ended on 28th November. I returned the equipment on 30th October and received confirmation that they have received it.

I have just had a bill for £58 and it clearly states it's for an advanced month from 28th November.

I am abroad now and cannot contact Virgin by telephone. Can anyone help please

Hello stockport1965

We're sorry to hear of the concerns caused by the recently received bill, we appreciate you taking the time to contact us in regards to this via the forums.

When you spoke to the team to give your notice on the account, did they advise it would end on the 28th November? We would continue to bill you up until the date of cancellation at which point a final bill would be produced with a revised amount ensuring you were only charged up until the date of disconnection.

If any payments are taken a refund would be issued based on the final bill amount, if not, the Direct Debit would be amended.

What date was this bill produced?

Was it before or after your disconnection date?

The bill was produced before the contract end date (22/11)

When I spoke to the team, they said the contract would end on 25th. We have cancelled the direct debit. If a correct final bill arrives, we will pay it. I am abroad and cannot phone Virgin Media to sort this. Is there any way of getting an amended bill by email to clear any outstanding amount?? At most it would be 3 days of use.virgin bill1.jpg

Thank you for letting us know and we are sorry to hear this.

Please do remember we do bill right until the day of the disconnection, then we would send you a final payment and once any kit and the bill as we been paid we would send a cheque refund out within 45 days of this.

We continue to bill you as usual until your disconnection is complete.

This helps to make sure your final month of service isn't interrupted.

You will therefore probably see charges that go beyond your disconnection date, normally because your cancellation date takes effect mid billing cycle
