Channels lost after contract renewal

Late last year I was offered a contract renewal with a 20% discount. The renewal offer stated that my package would stay the same.

I agreed to renew but then found that I had lost TNT Sports.

I emailed Virgin who told me that I had been moved from the Maxit package to Mega. The latter does not include TNT Sports.

This obviously goes against what I was told in the renewal offer which was for my current package and that it would stay the same.

Is there any point in putting in an official complaint?

Do you have proof of the offer that your package would stay the same?

That will make or break your next course of action.

Welcome back to the Community Forums and thanks for the post.

With this it would be like @japitts do you have email confirmation of what was stated in the contract as this would state with regards to TNT.

On the downside, the 4month timelag between then & now could be questioned, but otherwise that certainly helps your case.

I had the above notice shown in the previous post where it quite clearly states that my package would stay the same.

After renewing, did you receive an email confirming the package, contents and price saintsfan49?

Since I subscribed to Sky Sports man years ago the additional sports channels were added free of charge. This was Setanta who were then succeeded by BT Sport and finally TNT Sports. As they were always bundled with Sky Sports they did not appear on the contract. Surely that is irrelevant. I had them before renewal, I was promised an unchanged package but ended up with something different. 

The key is in the statement "Your package will stay the same".

We would need to see correspondence that confirms that you would keep the same package.
