I'm just out of contract and mine has jumped from 93 to 118.. however I phoned up to see if I can have a better deal and the equivelant package to what I had now was 208 pounds that is double what it was 18 months ago.. they are having a joke aren't they... I really don't know what to do because the channels I do watch I can't get singely (Sky sports f1 and TNT is now paid for) it is a complete joke.. however a new customer (I did it for my mothers address came in at 114 quid.. This was from retentions who did not really retain my services at all. I am going to look elsewhere now because I have brsk in the area for boradband choises to 1gb!

If you have other viable choices, put in your cancellation.
There have been regular topics on here recently which report the only decent offers came in after cancelling. There is, however, no guarantee you will get an offer after cancellation and having marketing options on is required for the call to take place. If you do cancel, therefore, you need to be prepared to follow through and leave.

I had the same run in with Virgin you were not keeping the same plan at all but moving to a totally different contract which was not clear at all. It also stated renew your contract and keep exactly the same as you have now.. however it meant loosing TNT and also my second box was completely missing from this 'new like for like contract' as well... nowhere did it state exactly what the contract was so lucikly someone on the forum team I was in conversation with about an 18 month internet issue was able to tell me exactly what the offer was for etc. and it was no like for like at all and was also substantially more money than my current contract...
