Phone Line Dead

My home phone line went dead a few days ago, nothing noticeably has changed.

Traditional set up, so socket in the wall job.

Tried a different hand set/cables/turning off etc etc all the usual troubleshooting - but still nothing.

Any advice from anyone? Trying to speak to someone is proving near impossible.
