Hi all, family have been using new FTTP service on XGS-PON network alongside old Sky FTTC landline.
Sky contract coming to an end so need options for landline. Is this available from VM in XGS-PON areas yet? It still seems to be ‘coming soon’.
Any experience using VOIP services on the Hub 5x as an alternative?

VM is at the moment using its existing cable headend exchanges to provide landline services (including the hub based lines). These only cover the existing legacy cable franchise areas, so the newer XGS-PON areas currently have no facilities until VOIP is switched on sometime next year. I would seriously look at a standalone VOIP provider to move to, as the service can be used on any internet hub no matter what ISP it belongs too.

Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. The XGS-PON service is not available in all areas at the moment, all customers will be advised once the service becomes available in their or all areas.

+1 for above, just move your number to a VoIP supplier and move on. I used SIPgate as they used to be free, but now charging. Vopifiy is another supplier you could look at. That way if you move to another ISP, you don't have to worry about your phone. Most of these suppliers also allow the "landline" number to be used on your mobile as well via the VOIP softphone software.

Keeping our three phone numbers out of ISP bundles is our priority, hence we have Sipgate VOIP.
