Latency spikes

Looking for any help that can be offered. When playing any online games I notice a lot of latency spikes either in game or when using discord. When running speed tests I am getting good speeds yet if i look at my BQM i am constantly getting spikes all day long. Currently using the SH3 in router mode as in modem mode it wasn't giving me constant speed to my own router or my own router had issues. All test are done on PC via ethernet. Its getting to the point where you could say its unusable. Below you can see the spikes yesterday when using the internet.

maybe a slight upstream issue.

Do you have online backup or P2P running?

I would suggest you try modem mode again what router was you trying to use?

Have neither of those running, all the spikes happen when the system is under load whether that be streaming Netflix or gaming.

the issue was the same with it in modem mode, it was just slightly better due to qos settings. The router was an old asus black knight as can’t remember the model number

Hi baby_pizz,

Thanks for posting, and sorry to see you've been having some connection issues.

We've had a look at things from our side, and everything looks to be within the specifications we would expect.

How're things since you last posted? Do you have a BQM set up? If so, are you able to post a live link?

The issue is with the hub 3, it just cant direct the traffic right when gaming it seems. I have put it into hub mode and found an old router i had from 10 years ago which has helped. Still getting the odd spike but no where near as bad as before. Ideally need a better solution than using an old router I luckily had as a way to keep me going.

Latest graph is showing much better as ping max as you can see. something has gone on last night though as it looks to have dropped and since then pushed up the average.f9cf2d455c2a39981275262701ddba74ff397970-20-02-2024.png

It looks like there was some network switching going on.
