Virgin.net account being closed despite my having an active virginmedia account.

So I received an email from VM this afternoon informing me that my virgin.net will be closed in 30 days. I have an active VM broadband account and the Virgin.net address is my primary email. The massive inconvenience of migrating to another email provider is the main reason that I’ve stuck with  VM since well before the millennium. Virgin, is there nothing you can do to sort this out? If not, I lose around 50k mails and you lose around £1,000 a year.

If you are currently a VM broadband customer, there are some options to associate your old email with your VM broadband and keep it going.

Summarised below but you need to be contacted by a VM person to find out the exact options open to you
