the age old topic of legacy ntlworld.com email addresses. My mother in law has an old ntlworld.com email and is no longer a Virgin media customer. She has been unable to log in for some time but we weren't sure if this was a settings issue or password issue. In the end I wrote a little script to try logging in to all the various ntlworld or virginmedia servers to see what kind of error it's throwing and one of them gives the message Account is Locked, change for new password is needed (VM303).
Considering she is not a VM customer and has not been for a very long time, how does she go about this?
Thanks

Hi xe,
Thanks for posting and sorry to hear your mother in law is having some issues with her emails.
From Thursday 3 October 2024, we began contacting former Virgin Media customers via email who still have an active virgin.net email account to make them aware that we'll soon be closing said email account.
Upon receiving the initial notification, we'll send a reminder email 15 days after, and finally fully close the email account 30 days after.
If she doesn't have an active broadband account with us we're encouraging customers to make sure that they:
• Send any important emails or contacts to another email address.
• Save any attachments you want to keep to your computer or device.
• Let all your contacts know about your new email address.
If she can contact us here directly we can see if we're able to reset the details in order for her to save/ move any important information.
