Hi,
I have suddenly had my NTLWORLD email saying that my password needs resetting. I have tried following the instructions online but due to the account being old I don't have a security question to answer and therefore it just shows as blank.
I am desperate to get this reset as it has been 3 days now without any email access. I am a Virgin broadband customer (on a different email address) and would welcome any support to get this reset.

Is this an historic NTL mailbox or have you been with VM since this mailbox was created? VM seem to be actively purging old mailboxes that are not linked to an active VM account. They are only supposed to be available for 90 days after an account is closed.

That sounds rather like a phishing email. I hope you went directly to the VM website and didn't follow links in the email.

I am an active VM Broadband customer on a different email address. However it relates to an old account but the email has been active for a long time even after that account was not used. Well over the 90 days.

It wasn't a phishing email. It was through the VM website

That’s sounds like your old NTL mailbox may be gone. The 90 day rule has always been in place but not always followed through. I had to ask for my old NTL mailboxes to be deleted. They were not used and well over 90 days by quite a bit!

I have had to change my password 9 times since January 2024. VM told me NTL and Virginmedia now not supported so had to go GMAIL or Yahoo etc. Not sure if person really knew what they were doing since the email access was just confirming new account access (which was set up anyway away from Vm). Not impressed if i have to tell all my contacts and utility companies of changes

There has to be a way of doing this. I can now see my old ntlworld email linked to my new account but still cannot get access to emails having tried a password reset. Like you I could really do without having to contact all of contacts and utility companies to change an email I have had for 20 years!!!

Don't know if this is the Security answer they want but if you can sign into your My Virgin Media account and then,
Click on Account Settings, Account Details, then scroll down to Telephone Security Details (memorable word), and click on Edit.
You can then set a new security answer.

Thanks but sadly it is not the email account I sign in to my virgin media account with. It is an email that relates to an old account but this email has now been linked to my new account.
