The pinned Mod post confirming the "issue that is affecting our Virgin Media email service for customers" is now 'read-only' it appears, disallowing comments.
I wanted to give update to new visitors (and Mods if they can be bothered) that: I have 3 accounts that were down, all using POP3, but my old 'legacy' NTL account is back up as at 1800h 19 June, but the other 2 are VMdotcom accounts and still not working! Patchy repairs.
Also, I wanted to highlight this from the VM website under "How to manage my email account", it states:
"Please note, Virgin Media no longer offers the ability for customers to create new Virgin Media email addresses. Customers with an existing Virgin Media email address will not be affected; their mail account will remain as is."
It is clear that VM do not want to run emails as it makes no money for them as an independent business entity. Could this go some way to explaining the recent (intentional?) system failures? After the lengthy debacle a few months back with legacy accounts, I suggest it is time to have a full back-up plan, or simply migrate all email. What VM fails to realise is that email provision is an important 'Customer Service' product, for decades, whose removal will cause untold damage to reputation and marketing.
