Hi
For the last two hours I have been unable to login to my ntlworld.com email account.
I have changed the password from my virgin medial account but this has not helped, stilll get login failure from email client, and also the webmail page does not load, it also seems to have a login problem. I just get a blank screen or a screen with no emails in it.
Help
best regards, Malcolm.

I think there may have been an issue with VM's email servers earlier this afternoon. I just noticed my Thunderbird app had been reporting IMAP/SMTP errors earlier this afternoon with my virginmedia.com and ntlworld.com test accounts.
However, I have just sent a test message from one test email from one account to the other and Thunderbird was able to send and receive that successfully without VM reporting any server errors. Thunderbird is noi longer reporting any errors.

I can log onto the My Virgin Media account and the email webmail accounts of my VM & Ntloworld accounts without any problems so it seems that you are experiencing a different problem there.
If you have reset the account password I assume that you have already set a non VM email address as your VM username. If not you need to do that.
Once you have done that you need to sign in to your webmail /online account with the non VM email address you specified along with the new password.(So not with your VM/Ntlworld address.
In your email client you need to use VM's "mail app" password rather than your webmail/online password.

Hi,
I had done most of that, But I just reset my main VM account password again and it suddenly started working. I had reset it earlier to no avail, but it looks like resetting my ntlworld email PW then resetting my VM acct PW did the trick.
Yes I have a different VM acct email address to my ntlworld one 😉
Thanks for your response though as it would have fixed it.
Best regards, malcolm.

I'm glad to hear everything's now ago. I think it was just a temporary glitch with the VM severs. Perhaps the problem was still ongong when you reset the password the first time.
Whatever...........it's good you back up and running now,
