Delete old unused email account

Tuning in

Back when I joined blueyonder (before Virgin media) I set up several email acounts used for different purposes / different devices.

I wish to do a tidy up on these accounts and delete the ones I don't need any more.

Not all the email accounts show under my main My Virgin Media sign in.

For the ones not there, I have to login to My Virgin Media with the the email details, then I can see the the email account.

Can I merge the email accounts? I want to see them under my main My Virgin Media account and delete the ones I don't want any more.

The community pages about this imply that removing an email account can only be done when the main account is closed!

Sounds like you have some orphaned email accounts that are not associated with your current VM broadband subscription.

You can ask the VM forum team to have them deleted. The VM forum team normally reply to topics within a few days.

If you want to recover information from the accounts before they are deleted there is a past topic in the forum archive which you might find helpful.

@shendy I suspect that being an original Telewest/blueyonder customer, as I am, that some of the email addresses that you set up are in fact alias accounts.  If this is the case then they share the same mailbox and password of the parent email and cannot be deleted without deleting the parent account.

If they are secondary accounts rather than alias then the options are slightly different.  You should be able to delete them from the Manage other My Virgin media accounts section when logged in to the primary account.  There is no option to merge them into other email addresses.
