Blueyonder Email Account

Tuning in

So, I have an issue with my Blueyonder email account and 1st line support are useless.

I have gone through the Incognito / Private browser window and when I hit Forgotten Password, and enter a new password, I get this error:

So what do I do now?  I have asked for it to be reset and get told "How can I change the password of your id, that e-mail id has been not registered on my system?"!!!

I do not want to change my account username or email, I want to change the password for my Blueyonder email password!

@cmpwat125 A recent security change made by Virgin Media means that you are now forced to change the username for an email address to a third party one before you can change the password.  You can read about this here: https://www.virginmedia.com/dpb/help/change-my-virgin-media-email-address

Once you have set the new username you should be able to change the blueyonder password via the My Virgin media account for the email address concerned.

Going forward you will need to use the third party email username to log in to VM webmail with the blueyonder account password.

If you want to use a third party email app to access the email address you will need to generate an app password for the blueyonder email account which is used with the full email address as the sign in credentials.

I have exactly the same problem which originated from an email from Virgin telling me I needed to update my password due to a data breach. When I get there it is all about entering a 3rd party email with a new password. Then asking me to change my blueyonder password. Tried over and over and keep getting same message.

Been on the helpline several times, talking to a lovely lady yet very difficult to understand her accent. Im in Uk and heaven knows where she is !  Each time I get the impression she thinks Im some kind of idiot (ok Im not that techie) but Im not an idiot. At the end of two lengthy conversations and resetting my email still is not working and now have to wait up to 5 days for "them" to sort it out. That means 13 days with NO email.

I have heard that what they are aiming to do is get rid of all blueyonder.co.uk emails, and this is the reason for the 3rd party email, Why cant they just be upfront and honest about it? Instead of coercing about a security breach.

Seems we live in a world of lies and coercion today.

@Graham_A - thanks for this information.  I have indeed changed my email address to my outlook.com address, but it is still not allowing me to change the password for my blueyonder email address, or allowing me to sign into the account?
