My street now has fibre from the pole with numerous companies clambering for business. Alas Virgin Media still seem to think they are the only guys who can provide fibre BB around here. Equivalent BB/TV package being offered by Sky with Ultra Fast Fibre BB and three separate TV's pucks is £45 less per month than VM is charging me for two Tivo's; VM see no reason to provide a more competitive price. I have under six months left to run on existing contact and then its goodbye VM.

The only thing going for VM is modem mode on all hubs but hub5x which will be a let down if they don't do anything about that and likely one of the last ISP to go CGNAT
but if you don't care about that or latency is not that good most days then the choice is a choice

Separate Company I know, but VM IE already do CGNAT and are under Liberty Global I think. They do get both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses however.

Its true ..as for me Openreach have installed Fibre just six yards from me as I write this ...fibre cable so carrying a plethora of cable companies wanting my business ... and new kid on the block and to me most attractive BRSK just round the corner and installing cable services near me .. soon to be at my avenue .. in fact the rep came a couple of weeks ago touting for business ... alas VM your time is nigh done unless you can tempt me to renew and face cancellation and the shipment return of a V6 box, telly remote and an antiquated superhub 2ac ( currently in modem mode) ... yup .. have to wait a few more months until contract is up ... good luck M8tey ..😊
