360 Box and Stream box

I am currently on the Mega TV bundle.

A number of months ago I took out multi room as the engineer put it 'sales had not been truthful' and I had misunderstood that each room had to be cabled. When I took out multiroom over whatsapp I was specifically told that I didn't need to have them cabled. Currently this is sat idle as an app machine upstairs but it is near impossible to use. The engineer said you can almost use it as live tv by using recordings and making sure you are always a second behind but this is fiddly and not really satisfactory. Recordings tend to fail 75% of the time as well.

A friend of mine recently had an engineer out but was given a stream for their multiroom as they were unable to get a drill to the place. Since then he has added as second stream and now has a 360 box and 2 streams for multi-room.

When I look at new packages and go to multiroom it now suggests 'if you’d like to watch your channels in another room, you can subscribe to Multiroom from Virgin Media and add up to 5 extra Stream boxes'

When I have rang customer services ( on support team on 0345 454 1111) to make changes, they said to me is that the computer said no and refused to pass me up the chain, basically forced me to hang up.

I am unsure why it is so difficult to make changes, when it is clear that this can be done.

At the moment I am looking to move to EE now that faster openreach has moved into the area, but I have been with virgin for a while and would rather not.

I would ask if this is something that could be sorted out but I know for a fact it can be. It is also frustrating to have been mis-sold something. Any ideas on moving this on?

This has been a very recent change to the way the boxes & servers operate on the traditional network. New customers & existing customers with no existing multiroom boxes are now getting IP streamers instead of broadcast boxes. However, if you already have a broadcast multiroom box these cannot be mixed with IP streamers on the same account.

One of the forum team should be able to tell you if the change is possible. You may have to wait a few days for a response.

Just a small point to note. Virgin TV (360 or Stream) only works on Virgin Broadband, as it is on a closed internal network. A few fibre ISPs have been claiming Virgin TV will work on their network. It won’t, so don’t be conned by the sales patter.

  • Hi Darosh,

    Thanks for coming back here.

I've just replied to your thread here: 360 Box and Stream box

Please make sure you are only posting once about your issue. If you need to update the thread then just reply to your original thread rather than creating a new one. We understand it's frustrating when something's not right however posting more than once about the same fault makes the boards look busier than what they actually are. It also means we could take longer to reply due to needing to sift through duplicate posts.

Have a look at my reply on the other thread and stick with that one so we keep all the information in one place.

    Thanks,
