Signing into Superhub 4 that’s in modem mode

Hi,

I am trying to monitor the stability of my connection by activating a monitor provided by thinkbroadband.com.

I need to adjust my modem as the monitor is showing 100% packet loss. I have googled and my Virgin Superhub 4 is supposed to be reachable on:-

192.168.0.1

or

192.168.100.1

Neither of these work, my browser hangs and finally says can’t connect.

How do I access my Super hub 4 that’s in modem mode, are those addresses correct, and if they are, why can’t I access it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be being blocked by your router. What subnet are you using 192.168.0.0/24 or another one?

      Hi,

It's 255.255.255.0 for subnet mask and the router address is 192.168.1.1

When I had a Hub4 if the LAN subnet was not in the 192.168.0.0/24 range, you could reach the hub on both addresses. One thing for a test is to change your router and one device to this subnet and try to reach 192.168.100.1

Remember in Modem mode it is your 3rd party router that has to respond to the WAN pings from BQM.

Check the value of your Public IP, BQM must point to this  : https://whatismyipaddress.com/

Make sure the firewall of your Router ( not the VM Hub ) is set to permit / respond to WAN pings

All the above, however the Hub 4 (Not a SuperHub 4) should be reachable on 192.168.100.1   If you are using modem mode, I would also suggest you remove the VM Connect app should you have it installed on any devices.  It's not needed in your setup.

When I had a Hub 3 and 5. I never had that IP range but was able to reach the 192.168.100.1   The only thing was it wasn't constant, i.e. sometimes the PC would connect but the phone wouldn't and vice versa.  I just think the Hubs are a bit stroppy ....... 🙂

  • 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.100.1 both not working, I am currently talking to someone at Virgin and they don't know what to do either, other than ask me to restart my Superhub 4, anyone else had this problem and found a way around the problem?

Can't do anything if I can't access the settings on the Superhub!
